314 Collaboration

We are incredibly proud to be part of the 314 Movement, launching on 14th March in Edinburgh Gardens (Fitzroy North, Melbourne).

As huge advocates for mental health and wellbeing within the queer community, we knew we had to get involved in this exciting opportunity. The 314 Movement is an initiative of Euphoria Social that is designed around a simple and repeatable daily check-in:

3 Gratitudes – Think, write, or draw three things you are thankful for today. They can be small. No need to spin them positively if that’s not authentic to you. This can help with grounding and awareness.

1 Support – Name a person, a place, or resource you could connect with. This reminds us we do not have to do everything alone, and that we have options both out in the community, and at home.

4 Breaths – Take four slow, grounding breaths. Breathe in through your nose, and out through your mouth. With practice, this can help to calm and regulate your nervous system.

How will LGBT+ Social Hub Melbourne be involved?

We are part of the committee, and actively invovled in shaping how people can engage with the movement; whether this is through the daily practice mentioned above, running their own peer-facilitated groups, or spreading the word in other ways.

On launch day, we’ll be hosting a core values workshop, aimed at helping people get in touch with that matters most to them and make decisions that better align with their preferred self. We’re incredibly excited about and hope you’ll join us there! Registration is required to be part of the launch event, and there’s a huge lineup of community leaders, local organisations, and mental health informed collaborators already locked in for the day.

This is all very new and will continue to take shape over time, we can’t wait to keep you in the loop, and maybe even see you at the launch or following events!

Initiatives like these are so important for improving the overall health and wellbeing of our community, and we’re very grateful to be part of it.
